About the desk

The Your Insurance Hub story.

We're an independent editorial team focused entirely on insurance — auto, home, life, health, pet, renters, umbrella, business, and disability. We may earn a commission when you click through to a carrier, but our reviews and rankings are never for sale.

“We started this hub after one too many readers told us their renewal letter felt like it was written to confuse them on purpose. We don’t think that’s an accident.”
— Marisol Ortega

Editorial standards

How we rate, how we write, what we won’t do.

We re-shop everything

Reviews of major carriers are re-quoted across at least eight ZIP codes and three driver/coverage profiles before we publish a premium estimate.

We disclose affiliate links

Some links to carriers earn us a small commission. We’ve never raised a star, removed a flaw, or skipped a competitor for a sponsor — and we never will.

Reviewed by a second editor

Every piece is read by a second editor — typically a former licensed agent — for accuracy on coverage mechanics and state-by-state quirks.

We update when it matters

Premium tables get a date stamp. Material rate or coverage changes trigger a re-touch within 30 days. Old claims data is replaced, not piled on.

We correct in public

When we’re wrong, we fix the article and post a clearly-labeled correction note at the bottom — never a quiet edit.

We don’t accept paid placement

No “sponsored top picks,” no “featured carrier” inserts, no pay-for-play. If a carrier shows up in a roundup, it earned the slot.
